HUASCARAN NATIONAL PARK
Officially established in 1975, this park includes 340,000 hectares mostly in the Cordillera Blanca, the highest tropical mountain range in the world. Unlimited lakes, trails and valleys to explore.See our link page for references
THE CORDILLERA HUAYHUASH RESERVE
110 km south of Huaraz, this 30km range runs north – south and contains 7 peaks over 6000 masl and 7 more over 5500 masl. Impressive, remote and breathtaking. Treks are 5 or 12 days in length.See our link page for references
YUNGAY / LLANGANUCO LAKES
Visit the site of old Yungay where in 1970 an earthquake and rock slides buried the entire town. Continue on and visit the emerald green Llanganuco Lakes at the base of Peru’s highest mountain – Nevado Huascaran.
