HUARAZ TOWNSITE

An hours walk to a taxi or a pick up here will bring you to Huaraz townsite where you can access the internet, make international phone calls, buy supplies, see a museum, visit tour agencies or people watch from the Plaza de Armas.

HUASCARAN NATIONAL PARK

Officially established in 1975, this park includes 340,000 hectares mostly in the Cordillera Blanca, the highest tropical mountain range in the world. Unlimited lakes, trails and valleys to explore.

THE CORDILLERA HUAYHUASH RESERVE

110 km south of Huaraz, this 30km range runs north – south and contains 7 peaks over 6000 masl and 7 more over 5500 masl. Impressive, remote and breathtaking. Treks are 5 or 12 days in length.

YUNGAY / LLANGANUCO LAKES

Visit the site of old Yungay where in 1970 an earthquake and rock slides buried the entire town. Continue on and visit the emerald green Llanganuco Lakes at the base of Peru’s highest mountain – Nevado Huascaran.
