Please let us know your level of experience when booking. All rides are with a guide. Each trip starts with guests helping get, brush down, and saddle your horse. You will then ride your horse inside our Inn before going out to open terrain. We feel this gives both the rider and the horse a chance to get to know each other and ease into a relationship, creating a level of trust and confidence for both. are invited to help clean and prepare your horse for the ride. Riding is on gentle trails through local countryside and communities.
We offer riding for young children in our riding ring only since our horses are large and strong and they are therefore not suitable for young children out on the trails.
Ask us about enjoying lunch with us after your ride or about enjoying the afternoon at the Inn. Also, if you do not want to take a taxi back to town, there is a pleasant 3 KM walk to a colectivo (shared bus) stop.
This is trail riding paradise with miles and miles of open (unfenced) trails and roads! Nearby trails offere spectacular views of the white capped mountains of the Cordillera Blanca. The routes we ride depend on weather conditions, community actitivities, and the rider's experience. We leave in the morning to avoid the hot sun or afternoon rains. From the Inn we have access to rural and community trails which take you by farms and houses or quiet country roads.
We have a number of strong, gentle horses experienced with our backcountry terrain.
